Courtney is a Lighting Designer and Programmer based in Dallas, TX. Originally from Kansas City, they received a Bachelor's in Theater Technology and Design from Northwest Missouri State University in Fall, 2019 and their Master's in Entertainment Lighting Design at Southern Methodist University in Spring, 2023. Currently, Courtney works as the Assistant Technical Director at the University of Texas Dallas where they act as the Resident Lighting Designer and Production Electrician for the Theater and Dance departments. Here, Courtney has designed lights for musicals, dance pieces, and a variety of concerts and other rentals. While at SMU, they designed lights for several straight plays, opera, and a number of dance pieces. Additionally, Courtney has worked as an Associate Lighting Designer and Programmer at Luna Lux, the Summer Lighting Design Intern at The Naples Players in Florida, and a Lighting Design intern at Essential Light Design Studios in Dallas.
